Top 10 Toppings for Baked Potatoes
Written by admin on April 4, 2008 – 10:58 pm -Baked potatoes are pretty darn yummy. When I was a college student and just LEARNING what the term “busy” meant, I used to throw them in the microwave wrapped in a paper towel and throw some sour cream on it (if it wasn’t TOO sour yet) and some Mrs. Dash. You know, I haven’t tried “baking” a potato in the microwave in a while, I wonder if it really is as good as I used to think it was?? Or atleast even edible?? Hey, I was a poor college student and I didn’t have my amazing meal planning skills yet (see last post and prepare to be amazed)! Well, in any case, I do still think that a baked potato just on it’s own could almost pass as a meal itself…my husband would disagree, unless one of the toppings is a T-bone steak…so maybe it could be a good lunch? Anyway, here’s my top 10 for yummy baked potato toppings:
- Butter (and lots of it, not little “pad” here!)
- Sour cream
- chili (PLEASE tell me you’ve tried this one!! Oh so good)
- ranch (this one might not count, because I think ranch tastes good on anything)
- sauteed mushrooms
- Mrs. Dash (definitely still need the butter and/or sour cream with this one…but she adds a lot!)
- broccoli & cheese (hey, what can I say? I am totally a health freak, right??)
- just cheese…even better than broccoli and cheese (k, maybe not a health FREAK…)
- bacon bits
- a T-bone (you’re welcome, hunny)
